Look What I Made!

Cards designed by Melaney Watson

Last night, I got to attend a stamping event where I was a stamper! I had almost forgotten how much fun it is just to stamp for me. I played with the Office Accoutrements set (it didn't really appeal to me in the mini but now it's moved to a MUST HAVE). Check out a few of the cool things and let me know what you think of them.

Relay Update

Just wanted to post a quick update on my Relay for Life fundraising. My yardsale raised nearly $50 -- thanks everyone who purchased.

I'm working on finalizing the date and location for the Relay stamp camp- it's looking like Gallatin - at Sumner regional medical center. I'm waiting for final confirmation. I hope to raise at least $400 at this event (so I'll need at least 20 stampers!!) hint! hint!

More to come...

SAS (Stamp a Stack)

Copyright Stampin' Up 1999-2007

Wow- those of you who missed the monthly SAS tonight missed a good one! Not only did we have some good pizza, but the mix of ladies tonight was incredible. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard! Next time you see Pam, Sharon, Kellie, Betty or Carinda- be sure to ask them about the "cat" and then watch out!

We had a blast making our cards- while I had supplies out for Christmas cards, everyone decided to stay with spring- although many people decided that being "happy" just wasn't in the cards for them.

Speaking of Cards, here is of the cards we created- all were "case'd" from Splitcoaststampers so I am giving credit where it is do- we did our own take on them. For example, most of the stampers were able to figure out how to use the split punch to create the scalloped edge, for those who didn't - scallop scissors were available.

This card especially had them in stitches and was the subject of our next swap- talk is we are doing a "weird" theme although I will be announcing the Mother's Day /Girlfriend swap later tonight.

Can't wait to see you at the next event!

Relay for Life

I don't know if any of you have been touched by cancer, I know that my family has been effected in many ways. I lost my mom to leukemia nearly 20 years ago, my dad has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and both of my grandmothers along with several aunts were cancer survivors. Plus, my best friend's daughter was diagnosed and treated with a very rare form of kidney cancer just 2 years ago (luckily, Katie did well and is now a student at college!).

Because of this connection, the Relay for Life has always been very important to me and this year I have been asked to co-captain a team for the Hendersonville Relay for Life event. My personal goal is to raise at least $1000 for this and our team goal is to raise $14,000. I wanted to find a way to combine this goal with my love of stamping and have come up with a few ideas.

First, any orders placed between now and April 30- I will donate 20% to Relay. In addition, if anyone wants to "round up" I will also donate that to the Relay.

Second, if you don't need anything and would just like to make a donation, I've included a link to my Relay Website- you can donate online. This will help me reach my goal and will also help the community.

Third, keep checking my SU website (http://mnunaley.stampinup.net). I will be hosting a special workshop in April. All proceeds will go towards Relay.

Thanks for your support and if I can ever be of service, let me know.

Great Magazine to Share with You

Have you ever been stuck for both ideas and time? I found the greatest stamping magazine the other day while waiting at the bookstore for the doctor to call back and let me know if they could see my son (who happened to pop/twist his knee during tennis practice). Instead of going home, he and I went to the half way point between home and the doctor (the bookstore) and I found this Magazine - Take Ten.

Incredible cards that you can make in 10 minutes or less. Lot's of the samples use Stampin' Up products (even better). They don't list the stamp sets or colors by name but you can pretty easily figure it out. There is even a design challenge offered each issue- we're going to be trying a few of those challenge layouts at this month's stamp a stack so be sure to join us.

Check out the magazine and let me know what you think. Should I offer more cards that can be done in 10 minutes or less? Is less more or is more less?

Hmmmm....

Crop-a-dile What Do You Think?

Okay, I need some help and who better to turn to then my trusted stamping friends? I've been reading about the Crop-a-dile for some time, looked at it (repeatedly) at Hobby Lobby the other day and then today my good friend and downline Kellie sent me this link to a YouTube video on how to use it.

How To: Use a Crop-a-Dile

Before I run out and spend another $30 on a must have tool, is it worth the investment? Should I add this to my collection?

And while we're talking about tools- what about the Cuttlebug? Better or not than QuickKutz, Sixxix or Cricut???? I need help!!

Please share your experiences with me. I'll keep you posted on my decisions. And of course, you'll all get invited to a techniques class once I figure out which tools to buy :)

Designer Paper - My New Obsession

I've been having too much fun playing with the new designer paper and punches from the spring mini- cards, mini journals, stationary boxes filled with mini cards!! I can't wait until I get my camera working again and can post some of my newest creations. In the meantime, here are a few examples from SCS that are very similar to what I've been working on.

I can't wait for you to share your newest projects-- please post them here :)

If you want to get some ideas, while you are waiting for my pictures- check out the SCS gallery under spring mini- office accoutrement
